Balance

I step outside into the pre-dawn quietness of morning, as the wind forces a chilly air into my face, I brave it for a moment and catch a glimpse of one star still shinning. I went out with a tug on my heart, a slight ache of loneliness. Our lives have been so busy, and time at home lately has been spent sleeping.

Seeing that star was like a smile from God, as he softly said “My child, I am here”.

How often do you rush into your day? Maybe carrying some feelings of loneliness or just plain exhausted from running here and there. Does the end of your day find you falling into bed, or still pushing the clock to finish one more project, attend one more function/sports event/meeting or getting in one more load of laundry?

When we prioritize, say NO, reschedule, and drop what we are doing for a few moments of alone time with God, breathing in his presence, we will be filled. Balance will be restored.

Now the sun is up and it’s time to go!!

  1. Time rushes by us as my mother warned. I see my children now young adults slip by me and on their own road. I feel sad and lonely at times but I feel as you said, God smiles at us and reminds us that he is with us all the time. thank you.
