Foresight, Fear and Flowers

Chipper chirping brings the patio alive this morning. As I bring in the plants and flowers, I spy a sparrow near the new condo for tweets that Hubs put on the fence. Hard rains a few days ago washed out several of my newly potted flowers, so today I’m taking precautions and bringing them inside.

Last week I referred to knocking down walls with a wrecking ball, and gave my advice to young people to refrain from sex until they are married. Using foresight in bringing in the flowers from a potential hard rain is being cautious. However, leaving my outdoor flowers inside the house all summer in fear of them getting torn up again would result in dead flowers.

Safeguarding your heart by looking at the “red flags” in relationships before giving away a part of you that never comes back is wise. Jumping into a sexual relationship before totally knowing someone is unwise. Getting burned and building a wall while swearing off love doesn’t protect your heart it kills it.

If your heart is bound behind stone set it free. If someone you love has their heart locked away, show them they can trust you, be consistent with them. Building a foundation of security and trust will not allow walls of pain and bitterness to stand.
