I Had All I Could Take

nothing in all creation can separate us from the love of God that is in Jesus Christ our Lord” Romans 8: 38,39

Divorce does not separate you from God’s love. Divorce is not a sin. God hates the separation of marital union, but he doesn’t hate you. He doesn’t hate either of you.

When I was married the first time, I had left several times and went home to Mother. When leaving again, but for the final time, as I drove away I heard my Mother’s words “when it hurts bad enough you’ll leave.” This time I left with a broken nose and a crushed heart. Over the course of three years my heart had been breaking a little at a time. Each incident of hateful words, and disrespectful actions tore my heart, and created a tit’for’tat environment. He too, bore bruises from our escaladed incidents. Pastor’s bowed their heads in supportive prayer, counselors gave advice, family and friends put their two cents in, all the while in our own way, we each worked on and endured. What a strange way for two people in love to act. We each had all we could take, but I was damned for the divorce.

God did not damn me, but others did. HE loved me. HE stayed with me. HE waited for me. I was never separated from God’s love. As a believer in HIM, I still struggled with obeying HIM but he endured and stayed in there with me. God still waits for and loves my ex husband.

Have you had all you can take? Remember NOTHING can separate you from Gods love. Not a divorce, not an unwed teenage pregnancy, not a sentence in prison, not addictions, not a critical illness, bankruptcy, not even death.

If you haven’t yet accepted HIS love, than my prayer is that you will. HE is waiting for you, HE loves you. Romans 10: 9 explains how you can be saved.

Join me… as we live more obediently and joyfully in God, and read the whole chapter of Romans 8 and Romans 10:9

Join me in prayer….God, I have had all I can take. I am humbly and gratefully thankful for your unconditional love. Open my ears and heart, draw me closer. Allow me to clearly see and strongly feel your presence in my life. I ask the same for others, in Jesus name Amen.
