Honey Hole

Wake, oh wake my soul
the morning waits for none
it whispers sweet and low
until the day is done

“My morning doesn’t always start early, but when it does I go out to the Patio….in my pjs.”
I’d love to hear the “most interesting man” on that Dos Equis commercial, say my little saying!!
Another catchy saying I used for my children as they grew, was “Rise and Shine” and now use it with the G’Baby and myself.
Rising early or retiring late, I head to the Patio….it’s my HONEY HOLE. When I need refuge, I find it with my feet up on the lounge chair, cup or glass in hand, bible in my lap and camera or binoculars on the side table. A sincere conversation with the Savior happens here as well as rejoicing and praising, it’s where the Holy Spirit stirs me and God blesses me with his creation. I think of this place as my “prayer closet” as referred to us in Matthew 6:6.

In our earlier years of raising kids, shift work etc…visiting a secluded place was almost impossible (ever try to use the bathroom alone w/kids?!) so the side of the bed was where the prayers and reading happened before I collapsed and fell asleep. When I hit my mid 30’s I started realizing I needed a place of refuge and to be alone with God.

My hope for you is that if you do not have that special place, you will be encouraged to create one. A place where conditions are ideal for you to spend sweet time with the Lord.

Join me today……as we find or create our special place.

“Lord, we long to spend time alone with you. Show us, provide for us a special place or area where the conditions are just right for us to meet with you.” In Jesus name Amen

  1. It is best to do that before you end up in the belly of the whale/big fish and then get to talk with him!
