Attitude is Everything!

Our mornings are becoming more bearable for patio sitting, with a little less humidity and some soft gentle breezes. If you’ve never done this I encourage you to try it…yes folks you can do this at home! Sitting on the patio (our just in the grass in a lawn chair) watching the sun come up, and sipping a coffee or tea is never a bad way to start your day. God through his creation long to bless you each and every morning! This really gives one a fresh attitude for the day and God knows I usually need a fresh one, cuz mine from the day before is stinking to high heaven!

I had the great pleasure of knowing a sweet little lady who was dancing her way to 100. While her feet were swollen, sometimes over the tops of her shoes, she dressed to the nines, hair and makeup in perfect order she would grin as she’d say to me “Jewels, attitude is everything!” I took her advice easily as she so wonderfully modeled it for me daily.

This is a switch for me, as back in the old days my attitude was mostly rowdy like my language. The mouthier I was the more those around me would admire me. What a fool I truly was….and almost can be every so often if I don’t keep those emotions and my mouth in check.

I hope you’ll join me today….as we adopt an attitude of joy! and the only way that happens is to start and end our day in communion with our King. We can’t ignore getting a good rest, drinking lots of water, gettin’ a run in, or bike ride on as good for our attitude either…oh and don’t forget the lipstick!!

“Lord, we love to start our day talking to you, listening for your voice and sippin coffee on the patio! As we dedicate our day to you and for your glory, help us do so with a great attitude, and let it be catchy to those around us. In Jesus name amen.”

  1. Julie,
Isn’t is so true that when we were younger we acted so differently? I was hot headed, wanted my way, could care less who I offended, etc. Now, don’t get me wrong, there are days I want to react just like that, but I have learned to control my anger, emotions, mouth ( for the most part).

Thank you so much for your blog and encouraging, convicting ( at times ) words! You are gifted and a blessing!

    Trisha
