Are You Fond of Your Fodder?

At our house each morning we rise before the sun. This does not necessarily mean that I am a morning person, and well Hubs bless him isn’t a morning, afternoon or evening person! Something we both love and agree on is breakfast, and when we can we follow the cow signs to Chick-Fil-A. It doesn’t seem quite fair that we get to eat that delicious chicken and egg biscuit when those cute and hilarious advertising cows eat fodder. Webster’s definition of fodder: noun 1. Coarse food for livestock, composed of entire plants, including leaves, stalks, and grain, of such forages as corn and sorghum.

These advertising cows work pretty hard to get the word out on this yummy chicken, and should in turn eat pretty well for working. After all if you don’t work, you don’t eat. But in reality these cows are out spreading mischief and trying to trick folks, so in turn they eat what they sow …disgusting fodder.

At home and at work …are you sowing the kind of actions, motives and speech that will award you a fresh buffet of respect, love and a scoop of happiness!? Or are you dishing out harsh criticisms, belittling remarks, and rude comebacks all topped with a dollop of irritation and dislike….sounds like slop, so guess you’ll be rewarded the same since we… reap what we sow.

Psalm 19:14 “may the words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, Lord, my rock and my redeemer”

Join me today and stop to think, or pause to breath, and to pray always before we speak or act to those around us. May we sow words of encouragement, love and kindness and reap a sweet reward.

“God, watch over us, guide us in your ways for they are better than our own. Protect us from the evil around us and keep ourselves from doing evil. In Jesus name Amen.”
