The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

Times are hard and life is worse. I see, hear, or have personally experienced some of life’s difficulties and hardships recently. I have close friends and family who have marriages falling apart, children who are ill or have passed away too soon, financial difficulties, health complications, issues at work, and much more. Do you ever want to beg God to give you a break. I have found myself saying “God, I cannot take anymore!” Why is life so complicated? Unfortunately, I do not have any great insightful answers for that question. I do feel that sometimes we need to be pushed to that breaking point because that is when we know we cannot fix it, but God can. He can show up and show out. I think that sometimes God wants us to throw our hands up in surrender because we should not be trying to do this without him. He has never asked us to deal with things on our own. He wants us to fall on our knees and beg for his help. His word shows us over and over how He wants us to turn to him.  A few of my go to versus when I need  His comfort are:  Philippians 4: 6-7, Matthew 6: 25-33, Isaiah 26: 3-4, Psalm 91: 1-2,  and Psalm 86: 5-7. We are His children and He is our comforter. When our children are sick or having troubles do they not run to you for help and comfort? I mean, we are supposed to be a superhero who can fix anything, right? Shouldn’t we be running to the only real Superhero for help and comfort? What a comforting thought, that I am a child of God, and I can run into his arms and he will hold me through all of life’s trouble, I need only seek him.

Father, Thank you for always being there when life on this earth is too much. Thank you for the good times and for the bad. Please comfort those who are hurting so much, as only You can. Give them a peace that surpasses all understanding and wrap your arms around them. In Your Son’s name, Amen
