Help is on the way Dear!!

One, from the many of my favorite lines in Mrs. Doubtfire is “Help is on the way Dear!”

Robin Williams was also one of my favorite actors and comedians. My second most loved film of all time is Good Morning, Vietnam. My heart is heavy for his family, I pray for their healing and comfort.

What grieves me more than anything are the physical, mental and spiritual sacrifices that our entertainer’s make for our benefit. They sing to ease our spirits, they tell jokes to turn our tears into laughter, they put themselves into roles that we can identify with and at times dream to become. Enduring negative press is overwhelming for them. Dodging the paparazzi is draining. At times their safety is in danger. Yes they gain monetary reward, and their behavior can become out of control but they work to serve. And that Robin Williams did, he served.

My husband had the grand privilege to see this Actor go out of his way and walk across a muddy area to shake the hand of an Airman standing guard at a event.

A man who struggled with his addictions, a man who loved deeply. May we all who struggle with addictions, seek help and fight! May we overcome!

Robin Williams, we will miss you!
