You Have Something, I Need

We rise out of bed each morning to face the day. Our day will be similar in that we must eat, wash, flush and dress! However, each of our days will also differ greatly as one goes to chemo, one to work, another to the tasks of homeschooling, while another takes care of aging parents, and one will give birth. The list goes on…..what does your day hold for you? What challenges do you face?

While going about your day, have you ever wondered if you had anything to offer someone else?

Our minds are filled with the feelings of inadequacy, being ill equipped or just plain exhaustion lead to the feeling of failure. Truth is each of us that make it through the day and into the bed each night, is a success! Even if you fall into bed each night beat up from the day! Don’t short change yourself in thinking that you have nothing to offer. I guarantee you have something I need.

You are unique and extraordinary, even if you are peculiar or awkward (like me) someone, somewhere can benefit from you just by knowing who you are, how you handle your challenges or most importantly that you tried and are exhausted. We each need to see and know that we are not alone.

When I get the chance to purposely make a coffee or lunch date, I do so. Why? Because that person I’m meeting with always has something I need and vice versa. The need for companionship is the obvious reason to purposely meet. Sweetly, during this time we find many more reasons why we need each other and how each person and their lives are important.

I hope you’ll join me….and meet with someone on purpose. Rejoicing in the fact that we each differ and are similar and that both have something to offer!!

“Lord, you have made us each with the desire for companionship, yet we don’t always feel like we have anything beneficial to offer. Help us to see ourselves as you see us….valued, loved, important and give us the courage to share ourselves and you with others. In Jesus name Amen.”
