Talk of the Neighborhood

Earlier today, if my neighbors down the street were home and saw me back into their driveway on two separate occasions I bet I’d be the topic of conversation at their dinner table tonight. Then again, maybe they were, and I am!

My day didn’t start in the usual way, on the patio with God. I slept late, emailed and procrastinated leaving for two appointments. As I drove down my street I got to the end and realized I forgot a must have item at home, thus the first backing up and turning around in the neighbors drive.

After that appointment, I found myself in a checkout and no debit card to pay for purchases. I drove all the way home, 15min travel there, and could not find the card anywhere. Dug through my wallet again and found it behind my drivers license! I took off again, realizing at the same place down the street that I left the wallet at home. So again I backed around in their drive.

I went back to pay and the clerk called me a Ding Dong. Ok she said in response to the DL misplacement “don’t you feel like a Ding Dong”. Well I did and called myself that already, it just stung a little harder when she said it.

Tonight all that is behind me. I’m sitting on the patio, glass of wine, nice meal, kids roasting marshmallows around our fire. Could somebody bring this “ding dong” a pillow.
