Who Put the Crazy In Christmas

There is something so serene and revealing about being in conversation with the Creator before the sun comes up. Mornings to me are crisp and clear when I wake with HIS purpose in mind. Adding my purpose of sippin some hot flavorful coffee mixes well with the sweet fellowship God and I share.

Reflections lately have kept me, jumbled and unsure of what to print. There is so much going on in our world. Perhaps I need to perfect the half written posts and publish them later.

This morning as I read my bible still reading Matthew, I come across the word materialism in the commentary section regarding Jesus being tempted by Satan. Stopping there this morning swishing that word around with my coffee and taking it in, I will add a question pertaining to this “season of giving” we are entering into…. Who put the crazy in Christmas?

Was it musicians, actors, store owners, Christians, bartenders, old recipes, family traditions, media, or the inventors of  “stuff”?

Or is it you?

Join me this month as we reflect and unfold the mystery of who put the crazy in Christmas?

  1. Very good thoughts and very important question!! You are not alone, there are many searching for ways to show their children the true meaning of Christmas. In this society of “Santa” it is a challenge but there is a way to bring balance….I’ll be writing on this soon!! 🙂

  2. A question for me… how do we take the crazy out of Christmas?? I know someone from church who from the very get go told their daughter the truth about Santa and her question (once she was old enough) was “why do all the other adults lie to their kids?”
I’ve also known another couple to just give their kids 3 gifts- just as Jesus was given at birth.
But how do I do something like this now that my kids are 10 and 7? I need to find a way to take that crazy out of Christmas!
