Laugh Until You Cry

One thing my dysfunctional clan does right is laughing til we cry. Well the kids and I anyway can get out of control silly pretty quickly. Hubs, not so much. Remember these are grown adult kids. I hope they never change. There is something joyous and freeing about cracking up. I have had the pleasure of bringing on the laughter, and enjoyed the belly gusher laughing my kids bring on.

Something totally amazing about us is that we can laugh when we are sad and the tears end up being tears of joyous release. The Bible does say several places that laughter is good medicine.

Last night my daughter and I were in the Art room working on a few projects. I was complaining. Now the Bible also has verses regarding griping and complaining and how unwise it is to carry on like this but obviously I wasn’t recalling them at that time. Honestly, I was really entertaining while saying what I thought. She and I were bent over with laughter. Suddenly breathing became painfully difficult and the words came out “I’m too fat to laugh” followed by a short second of quiet and then a hilarious uproar leading to tears.

This morning as I look at my egg beater veggie omelet, on a tiny plate I begin laughing again. If laughter truly made you thinner, then I could hide behind a light pole.

Join me today as we keep a smile on our face and our hearts light! Oh, and don’t forget the Kleenex!
