Who You Gonna Call?

It’s a sultry morning on the patio, a morning to match my mood. I didn’t stay long, but retreated into the cool house. I might need to switch from hot tea to ice tea. Yesterday, I experienced yet another “marital moment” that left me heated. I’m on a journey of recovery for my emotions, especially my temper. I didn’t want this problem to shake me as in the past so, I called on God, and then called my son. I couldn’t help but hum the Ghostbuster theme song in my head as I called on my higher power, and then my son.

Back when my son was little, one of his favorite movies was Ghostbuster’s, and he had all the toys along with the jumpsuit that they wore. Many times we would head out to the store or run errands with him wearing his suit. We would stop everything we were doing when it came on the radio, or tv as we moved and sang along.

Part of this journey to become stirred by the spirit, not shaken by people/situations often requires humming light hearted tunes. This immediately brings a smile to my face. I then hit speed dial and reach God my Father, and we have been talking since yesterday.

This morning my sultry mood is a lot cooler than yesterdays boiling. As I sip my tea, and listen for HIS voice, HE gently reminds me to chill. The whole situation will work out, and I don’t have to call all my girlfriend’s and vent. I don’t have to waste my energy figuring out how to fix what’s been done. I can move on and be productive for HIM…..and that I don’t have to give Hubs the silent treatment for very long!

Join me as we learn what to do, and who to call when we hit a “marital moment” that has the potential of burning us up.

“Father, as we call on you, fill us with your powerful spirit so that we can keep an even temperature during heated moments. Give us wisdom and courage to do all things good for our spouse and marriage, even when we have been hurt and don’t want to. Remind us often that our spouse makes mistakes, and so do we. Thank you God, for fixing what is broken. In Jesus name Amen.”

This is so well said! I’m sharing on your behalf 🙂
    You should write a book!
