When the Words Won’t Come….Be Quiet.

Have you ever experienced a situation where you needed, to say something, or write something but the words just wouldn’t come. Or the words were all jumbled, mixed up and unorganized in your head and your mouth just couldn’t open.

We can also have these experiences in prayer. We want to talk to God, but the words won’t come. We don’t know how to say them, or what to say but feel we must let them out. We simply need to be quiet….listening for the calmness and wisdom of God. After awhile the words, will come.

For me it’s usually the other way around,  when my words are jumbled and unorganized I become quiet…..distancing my mind and my mouth from the situation, issue, subject, or person that is trying to shake me. Lassoing myself and “hog tyin” my lips, brain, thoughts, feelings and emotions. I get quiet and listen. I listen for the Holy Spirit. He gently brings all things into balance.

Right now as I struggle with jumbled words, I sit at my desk, I can stop typing and close my eyes and be quiet. Listening now to the summer rain falling, and a low rumble of thunder outside but, I do not focus on any words, speaking or my current situation’s. I simply remain quiet and wait for the Holy Spirit to stir within me…..and he does.

Will you join me….
